Hurricane Laura

Hurricane Laura made landfall near Cameron (Cameron Parish, 70631) La., as a Category 4 storm (maximum sustained winds of 150 mph) early Thursday, with more than nine feet of storm surge inundating the coast.

According to media outlets, the storm has been responsible for widespread damage mostly concentrated in portions of Louisiana, but also reported in Texas and Mississippi.

In addition, storm remnants produced several unconfirmed tornadoes Thursday night that downed trees, toppled utility lines and damaged buildings in Northeast Arkansas.
