
After forming early Saturday, Tropical Storm Claudette made landfall in southeast Louisiana soon after and has since produced flash flooding and reports of tornadoes in several states.
According to media outlets, areas hardest hit include Brewton/East Brewton, Ala., which was struck by a tornado on Saturday that reportedly damaged 50 homes.
In addition, torrential rain generating accumulations of 12-15 inches in some locations caused instances of flash flooding that entered dozens of homes and businesses. Areas affected include Northport, Ala., where water inundated mobile homes in the Willowbrook Trailer Park.
