A rare wildfire that sparked in Lakewood, N.J., has reportedly damaged residential homes and commercial structures.

A rare wildfire igniting in Lakewood, N.J., on Sunday has reportedly burned homes and commercial structures.

The fire, which quickly spread to more than 170 acres by Sunday evening, entered Brick Township’s Brick Lake Park community, resulting in roughly 30 homes sustaining damage. According to officials, at least three of the structures are no longer inhabitable.

As of Sunday night, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service reported that total containment for the blaze reached 50 percent.

    *Concentrated home damage reported in Brick Lake Park community:

    – Charles Drive
    – Francis Road
    – James Road
    – Vincent Drive
    – Wedgewood Drive
  • Lakewood (Ocean County, 08701)
    *Commercial building damage reported in Lakewood industrial park (area of 150 Airport Road)
