Heavy rain continues to soak portions of the South and has triggered instances of flash flooding in Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee.
At this time, it is being reported that the latest activity has mainly affected roads and is not currently considered to be a major threat.
According to the National Weather Service, 1-2 additional inches of precipitation can be expected across the Southern region through Thursday.
As storms continue to move east, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has issued a statewide emergency declaration to ensure smooth recovery efforts.
