
A rare wildfire igniting in Lakewood, N.J., on Sunday has reportedly burned homes and commercial structures.
The fire, which quickly spread to more than 170 acres by Sunday evening, entered Brick Township’s Brick Lake Park community, resulting in roughly 30 homes sustaining damage. According to officials, at least three of the structures are no longer inhabitable.
As of Sunday night, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service reported that total containment for the blaze reached 50 percent.
