
After making landfall as a Category 1 storm on Padre Island, Texas, Saturday afternoon, Hurricane Hanna lashed the Rio Grande Valley with high winds, heavy rain and at least one unconfirmed tornado before moving into Mexico.
According to media reports, it appears that the following counties have been hardest hit by the storm and have experienced instances of flash flooding and damage (downed trees and power lines):

- Hidalgo
- Starr
- Willacy
